Give the edit a standard
Paste the draft and add three things:
- Who will read it.
- What they should understand or do next.
- What must remain unchanged.
1Paste the real draft
2Name the reader and outcome
3Review the changes before sending
Choose the kind of help you want
- Light edit: fix clarity and grammar, keep the structure.
- Tighten: remove repetition and shorten the message.
- Restructure: move the key point and request where they are easier to see.
- Pressure-test: flag vague, defensive, accusatory, or easy-to-ignore wording.
Protect your voice
Ask Steady not to add fake warmth, corporate filler, or promises you did not make. A useful revision should sound like a clearer version of you—not a generic press release.
Before sending, verify every name, date, number, link, attachment, and commitment.
